Youth Sunday!

Youth Sunday

Thank you to everyone who helped with Youth Sunday in September!  The next Youth Sunday is coming up on December 30th.  Every time there are 5 Sundays in a month, the youth help with ushering, reading, greeting, assisting with children’s chat and running the Power Point during worship services.  Youth are always welcome to serve during worship anytime.  You don’t have to wait for a 5th Sunday.

Servant Events

We had a great time pulling weeds and blowing out tree pods from the Peters’ yard. Thank you for letting us help in your yard!

The youth put together stuffed animals to give to the Las Vegas Rescue Mission. Youth submitted designs for the shirt that will be on the animals. Check out all the great designs below!

The last Sunday of each month is Real Doughnut or Smoothie Sunday.   ALL JUNIOR HIGH AND HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH are welcome!  Youth go to Real Doughnuts or a smoothie bar during the Bible study hour for fellowship, drinks and snacks.  If you are new to First Good Shepherd Youth, Jon will buy you a drink or a doughnut.  Current youth, bring a new friend and you both get a free drink or doughnut!!!

SCRIP is an ongoing fund raiser that supports FGS Youth.  The purchaser (that’s you) gets to give (or keep) a gift card; FGS Youth Ministry gets a portion of the purchase, donated by the company to which you bought the gift card.  SCRIP is available from a variety of stores (either immediately at church or available within a week by order).  SCRIP is even available for Discover Card and Visa that can be used anywhere.

Discover Card

New retailers are being added all the time.  Check out for all the latest availability.  You can also Click Here for a quick overview of some of the more popular companies and SCRIP that is available almost all the time at church.  (If it’s not available right away, it can be ordered and arrive within a week.)

Black AngusKrispy Kreme

SCIP is available to anyone.  See Jon at the round table outside the narthex after worship services (Saturdays too!) or e-mail your request.  Order forms are available on the youth bulletin board.  You can also search for your favorite company at  The donation amount that each company gives is also available there.

Thank you for supporting FGS Youth Ministry!

Amazon Smile

Do you shop at Amazon? Click here to use Amazon Smile. This supports our church every time you shop.

You can also get SCRIP for Amazon. That doubles your impact by having Amazon donate the the church and SCRIP donate to the youth. And you get to keep the full value of your purchase. It doesn’t cost you anything! (other than the purchase of your item/SCRIP)

Smith’s Food and Drug

Do you shop at Smith’s? If so, you can register FGS with your rewards card. Every time you shop, Smith’s will keep track and make a donation to FGS at the end of each quarter. You get to keep all your points and coupons. Smith’s just makes a donation to our church based on how much shopping is done by our members.
