First Good Shepherd's History
First Good Shepherd Lutheran School was established in 1957, the oldest Protestant Christian School in the state of Nevada.
Until 1974, the enrollment was set at about 110 students with double grades in most classrooms. After completing the second phase of the building program in 1974, the school began to grow again until it reached a maximum enrollment of 210 children with individual
grades in each classroom.
The Early Childhood Center was completed in August, 2008. Grades K-2 were moved into the new facility along with the opening of the three year-old preschool class and the four year-old pre-K to celebrate 50 years of quality Christian education in Southern Nevada. August, 2012 will open with the 5555th year of classes for grades K-6 and the fifth successful year for the preschool.
