Other Exciting Things Going On at FGS!
Thanksgiving Feast
Every year First Good Shepherd has hosted the Thanksgiving Feast for the students
and their family members and friends. Over the last several years, we have served
between 450 and 550 people during the feast. That is a lot of food and it takes
a lot of coordination and preparation. Each grade is assigned an item to bring and/or
prepare as their contribution towards the feast. The sixth grade is also responsible
for seating, serving the guests, and bussing the tables for the next group of diners.
They really do work hard so as a thank you to them, several of the parents have
served up the feast to the sixth graders the last few years.
Sixth Grade Camp

As has been tradition for over 50 years, each October our sixth graders travel to
Lee Canyon and spend three days in the mountains studying, playing, laughing, worshiping,
singing, learning, and praying together. This experience creates lifelong memories
for anyone who attends.
A Traveling Classroom
Each year fifth and sixth grade students are given the opportunity to travel as
a group to either the spectacular Grand Canyon or Washington D.C. These two trips
alternate from year to year. The children are able to learn first hand together
as they travel. This is certainly an experience you don’t want your fifth and sixth
grader to miss.
Mrs. Sprouse and Mrs. Clay are our teacher advisors who travel with the children.
They speak about these events at the Parent Teacher League meetings held throughout
the school year. Please contact either of these teachers through the school office
if you would like more information.
